Getting an Oracle Aussie?

At Oracle Aussies our dogs are our family. Each and every puppy that we raise is an extension of that family. Our feelings of love and responsibility for those puppies do not end when the puppy leaves our house. We make a lifelong commitment to the wellbeing of each of our puppies. It is with this in mind that we place each puppy. When placing our puppies, we find people who are looking for their next heart dog, who will provide their new puppy with a loving home for the rest of their lives, who understand the commitment of getting a new dog and who understand that they are becoming a part of the Oracle family. Here are a few things that we look for in our puppies' new homes and their new homes like about us.

Placement Process:
First, we ask all inquiries to fill out a questionnaire. This questionnaire is designed to give us a better idea about the life you plan to provide for your puppy. It also gives us a glimpse into your opinions on diet, nutrition and training. As well, your answers give us some indication of how much you've thought about the commitment and planning around getting a new puppy.
Once, you've filled out the questionnaire, we let you know if we feel your home is suitable for an Aussie and if so, we add you to our mailing list.

As a rule, we do not take deposits on our puppies. We do not want you to feel obligated to get a puppy from us, as much as we do not want to feel obligated to sell a puppy to a family if we do not feel like we have a good match for that family.

Coming to get a puppy from Oracle Aussies is not a made to order process. We take the time to get to know each family member and the needs of the family. We take into consideration your activity level, experience with the breed and lifestyle. We match each family with the right dog for them in terms of temperament and activity level.
We understand that many people have requests based on colour and while we do take those into consideration, we make final placements based on the puppy's personality, not coat colour

This process is a long one and usually decision about placements are not made until around 10 weeks, when we are sure we know the puppy inside and out.

When you buy a puppy from Oracle Aussies, you are becoming a member of an extended family.
From the puppies in our first litter to our current litter, all the families are encouraged to stay in touch, share photos and ask questions as much as possible. Our puppies come back for visits, we have birthday parties and play dates. We have an online forum for posting questions, pictures, videos and we keep in touch with all our families. We encourage and applaud every milestone and are here for advice if needed.

We are picky about our puppy placements.
Here are some things we are looking for:

- Our dogs are only sold to homes where the dog will live in the home and be considered members of the family.

- We insist that our puppies are raised on a short recommended list of kibbles, dehydrated raw foods or raw food. With some preference given to homes who will feed raw, however that is not the main priority over an otherwise great home.

- We encourage minimal vaccinations. Allowing nothing more than a Dodds Protocol of vaccinations.
Our preferred vaccine schedule for those who want to do vaccines is:
Parvo/Distemper - 10-12 Weeks (MLV)
Parvo/Distemper -  16 Weeks
Titer test following to ensure immunity 14 days after vaccination and only boostered if needed at 1 year.
Rabies - 20 weeks or later if allowable by law.
Rabies - 1st Booster given one year from first, then every three years, as required by law.
Never give two vaccines at the same time (3-4 weeks), never give vaccines when dog is ill and never give a combo vaccine (more than the Parvo/Distemper combo).
We ask that you talk with your vet about this schedule and vaccine protocol to ensure they have these vaccines available to you.

- We insist on training classes for our puppies in their new homes and prefer positive reinforcement training for our puppies.

What you know you will get from us:
- Support for the lifetime of the dog.
- Training, nutrition and health advice is just an email or phone call away.
- Written contract and guarantees.
- If you live in the area, your dog always has a place to stay when you go away.

If you think you'd make a great Oracle puppy owner, we'd love to hear from you
